I think Dior’s Francois Demachy knocked it out of the park with the Sauvage line. Well ok perhaps except with the Parfum - Chanel beat them there with the BdC Parfum. But Elixir was Francois Demachy’s swan song response. 😍 In regards to popularity, I’m going to enjoy my bottles in a few (maybe many?) years when Sauvage is rare.
Edited to add: I just read Dior's Sauvage Elixir product page, and it's not a pure parfum or extrait. It sounds like a more intense version of Sauvage: they call it more concentrated. But in no way do they name it as a pure parfum. OTOH Dior Homme Parfum is parfum strength. It's not just part of the name, it's below the name listed on the box. In that regard, it is exceptionally successful. In the general public, it is very easy to love. Overall impression/best uses: The one that started it all, the OG, the MVP. Dior Sauvage EDT has been around the longest, and as such is the most recognizable. It is fresh enough to be used all year round in almost all situations, from beach parties to the office.
